Common Cuttlefish (Sepia officinalis). Lumix TZ10 with PANASONIC DMW-MCTZ10 underwater case, 1/40, f/3.3, iso 400, built in flash, handheld.
Not the greatest shot in the world, since I could only use my standard build in flash, but... what an encounter! Some friends and me went diving at the Oesterdam in the Oosterschelde to try our luck at spotting some Common Cuttlefish (Sepia officinalis). It's mating season right now and they come into the river delta to mate and deposite their eggs. Well, at the end of the second dive we got lucky and encountered a group of about 10. Especially the males can reach impressive sizes of around 50cm! This particular male and female where backing up, away from this funny looking underwater mammal.
