Monthly pic January 2012

A new year, which means plenty of new challenges and adventures ahead! It has been a little quiet on my website, but I have been busy setting up some new projects. I promise I will bring you more news very soon. Some of those projects actual involve my very first trials with studio photography. Yes... weird, i know... but it still has a connection with wildlife, what about that?

The pic of this month show a great tit, ready before take-off. It is actually one of the projects I am currently working on, a set-up for photographing garden birds. The only challenge so far has been finding the time for it, that fleeting thing. The great tit is a very common and widespread species in Europe and its surroundings. However, that doesn't make it any less colourful now does it? Curious and feisty, even though it is roughly 9 cm small. Check out your own garden, balcony, or local park. Take some binoculars and rediscover the obvious!
