Monthly pic December 2013

Composition photo of three leaves. Canon 5D MKIII, Canon EF 100mm f/2.8 USM Macro, 1/40, f/2.8, iso 100, tripod.
No, this picture of the month does not represent the flag of Mali. Though the decomposing leaves make for a fitting analog. I made this composition photo last autumn for an assignment. This morning I made a short trip to Meijendel hoping to find some more subjects, but most color already left the dunes. Under a grey sky this already sandy colored and wind swept environment looked extra desolate. Hence, this time of the year is great for post-processing photo's of my image library and planning new projects. I can't wait for either snow or spring though!

December is also the traditional month to look back. 2013 has been a great year, both personal and for business. Not only is Engeldorp HQ fully renovated, but we have a very cute - I am not biased at all! ;) - new generation that is enriching our lives and who we hope to inspire about our planet. With Picturing Wildlife I also had quite a productive year with a small exhibition, me signing up with my agent Nature in Stock and several assignments, including one that gives color to 10.000 m2 of office space. Who knows what next year will bring... as for now I wish you all happy days with your family and friends and a great 2014!
