About me
I’m Bart van Engeldorp Gastelaars, a wildlife photographer from the Netherlands. For me, photography is almost a way of life! It is about sharing the experience, about being outdoors, seeing the world, satisfy my neverending curiosity, and to gain new stories. I hope those stories enables me to share my wonder with nature with other people.
From an early age, I have a passion for nature and conservation. I have a BSc in Environmental Sciences, an MSc in Biology, and gained experience with WWF in both Hungary and the Netherlands. Besides being a photographer I work over 15 years as a conservation consultant for Dunea, doing cool projects like setting up interactive visitor center De Tapuit and establishing a brand new National Park. I also own Blackbird Conservation Consulting, specializing in conservation tourism.
Bart is a naturalist pur sang. He knows how to capture that perfectly in his, often technically accomplished, extraordinary photographs!

Services
I strongly believe in the power of images and I hope that my photos inspire other people to care about the natural world. I offer a wide range of services: from commissions, image licensing to prints, and presentations. Previous clients include the Peace Parks Foundation and the European Wilderness Society
Equipment
Curious about what gear I use?
For over a decade I have been very happy with the optic quality and service of Canon. Despite the advent of mirrorless systems I still have a preference for using a combination of a full-frame and an APS-C DSLR camera body.
